Hi guys this is the definitive\u00a0error proof for unifi controller for linux<\/p>\n

** DO NOT USE PURE DEBIAN SERVER USE UBUNTU SERVER INSTEAD**<\/p>\n

1.- Go to\u00a0https:\/\/help.ubuntu.com\/community\/Installation\/MinimalCD\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

Download \u00a064-bit PC (amd64, x86_64)\u00a0Ubuntu 14.10 „Utopic Unicorn“ Minimal CD 39MB\u00a0and install it.. and dont forget to add SSH Server,\u00a0use hostname unifi and add a DNS entry<\/p>\n

2.-SSH into the server and\u00a0execute:<\/p>\n

# echo „deb http:\/\/www.ubnt.com\/downloads\/unifi\/distros\/deb\/squeeze<\/a> squeeze ubiquiti“ >> \/etc\/apt\/sources.list.d\/20ubiquiti.list
\n# apt-key adv –keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com –recv C0A52C50<\/p>\n

# echo „deb http:\/\/downloads-distro.mongodb.org\/repo\/ubuntu-upstart<\/a> dist 10gen“ >> \/etc\/apt\/sources.list.d\/21mongodb.list
\n# apt-key adv –keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com –recv 7F0CEB10<\/p>\n

# apt-get update<\/p>\n

#apt-get install unifi (for 3.2 RECOMMENDED)<\/p>\n

or<\/p>\n

# apt-get install unifi-beta (for 4.6)<\/p>\n

3.- u will get a java error.\u00a0* Starting Ubiquiti UniFi Controller unifi Cannot locate Java Home\u00a0[fail]\u00a0.. to fix it run the following commands<\/p>\n

# nano \/etc\/init.d\/unifi<\/p>\n

search for JAVA_HOME and change the path to \/usr\/lib\/jvm\/java-7-openjdk-amd64<\/p>\n

now<\/p>\n

# sudo \/etc\/init.d\/unifi start<\/p>\n

4.- now lets install the 4.2 Stable version<\/p>\n

# apt-get remove unifi or\u00a0\u00a0#apt-get remove unifi-beta<\/p>\n

# wget http:\/\/www.ubnt.com\/downloads\/unifi\/4.2.0\/unifi_sysvinit_all.deb<\/a>
\n# dpkg -i unifi_sysvinit_all.deb<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

now type:<\/p>\n

#ifconfig<\/p>\n

Open your Broswer and go to \u00a0https:\/\/YOUR_IP:8443<\/a><\/p>\n
